Whew........what a busy and productive weekend!

I started off my weekend by working half a day at my real paying job.  Off at 2:00pm, then off to the quilt store to find some suitable binding for 2 customer quilts.

I put the binding on the front side of my "Golden Days of Old" quilt and ready for it to be hand stitched to the back.

Then, on to sewing the binding on the two quilts that were dropped off last week to be bound.  I will take these 3 quilts with me on the weekend when we trek off to Plano, Tx for the Plano Quilt Show.  This will keep me busy in the car and won't take any time at all to get these finished and back to my customer.
These quilts are said to be at least 70 years old.  Tops were made by her Grandmother.  Definitely will be cherished by those who loved her.  What a wonderful reminder of someone and such a legacy to leave to your family and loved ones.

Then, I had half of the day left on Sunday.  What did I do?  Well, I have been wanting a tote to carry quilts in when I have to take them somewhere with me.  So.....I made a tote.  22" wide and 30" long.  I put a pocket on the outside for a magazine or anything that I may need to take along with me.  Didn't it turn out great?  I am so excited that I will make at least one more, maybe two.

This tote will come in very handy.  Just like Saturday, I took both of the customer quilts to the quilt store to find some vintage fabric for the binding.  I just hate putting quilts in plastic bags, don't you?  Anyway, I seem to tote quilts with me from time to time for one reason or another, so thought I needed a tote bag.  I made this one out of a light weight canvas and lined it with some fabric from my stash.  It will be very handy.

What did you work on over the weekend?  Please share here and we can all enjoy your work too!

Have a great week!
Happy Stitching!

Glenda
